Admittedly, I don't know too much about Bottega Veneta outside of the fact that it's a major fashion brand. But, after looking at a few of their past collections, I decided that I quite liked the simplicity of the brand's designs. It's all very elegant and pretty, with just enough nostalgia to make for a very timeless piece of art. However, I didn't think their Pre-Fall 2013 collection was outstanding by any means, and there were far too many super heavy coats that didn't fit the rail-thin models quite right. But, seeing as it did have some very nice pieces in the mix with the uber heavy coats, I decided to put it on here for the internet's enjoyment. That said, I did like the use of leather for an overcoat, it made for a very, sort of 40's-ish piece. And there were some different silhouettes and shapes that I liked as well, mostly in the last few gowns. Ooh, the gowns! THOSE were gorgeous, and so simply elegant, I LOVED them. There was a decided lack of color, which seems to be a trend with Fall collections that I don't exactly like. However, Thomas Maier certainly has skill and CERTAINLY has taste, I just wish the collection wasn't as heavy and colorless as it was.
